“The Breath in the Fog”
(Meridian City · Occult Crimes Division · Unclassified Transmission)
Case File No.: O.C.D.–F-017-31
Filed By: Inspector Aya Lin
Status: Active
Location: East Docks / Fogline 3
Timestamp: 02:46 A.M.
Summary:
At approximately 02:31 A.M., a resident near Fog line 3 reported an “unnatural pulsing” in the dockside mist.
Witness described it as: “Fog inhaling. Fog exhaling. Like lungs.”
Upon arrival, I confirmed rhythmic movement in the haze – contraction and expansion at irregular intervals.
The temperature dropped 4.5°C within the affected radius.
The air carried a low-frequency throb (19–22 Hz).
Unclear if auditory or internal resonance.
Observations:
- Fog gathered into a central mass, approximately 2.4 meters tall
- Movement resembled a biological breath cycle, but lacked heat signatures
- Shadows within the fog did not correspond to any physical object
- My field radio flickered to 27.000 Hz for three seconds
- A faint silhouette appeared inside the mist – outline unstable, fragmenting at the edges
When the “breathing” stopped, the fog collapsed instantly, dispersing in a downward motion, not outward.
This defies meteorological behavior.
Recovered Notes (Aya’s Personal Log):
I don’t know whether I should write this part.
But something about the silhouette felt familiar – not the shape, but the presence.
Like stepping into a memory you haven’t had yet.
The pulse from the fog synced with my heartbeat for a moment.
I don’t believe in coincidences anymore, not after Tower #19.
Not after the frequency started following me like a second shadow.
Something is responding.
And it’s getting closer.

Conclusion:
Cause unknown.
Form unknown.
Intent unknown.
Recommend further monitoring of Fogline 3 during 02:00–03:00 hours.
Signal strength increasing.
Case remains open.
